Get our infamous donuts in the morning! We will be starting early (about 5am) making the donuts. Be sure to get them before they are sold out!
The fire police will be conducting traffic control for the foot race and the bike race. Also, they will be helping with the parade.
The members have the apparatus all shined up and ready for the parade.
Stop by our food booth at the park between parade time and the fireworks. We will have our food trailer in full swing to satisfy your late evening hunger.

Snorkel 1 gets sold April 2008
Snorkel 1 was advertised on e-bay and sold to an agency that was taking it to Vietnam. The buyers drove the truck from Brockway to Texas South of Huston. It was to be loaded onto a boat with 30 other apparatus to be delivered to Vietnam for firefighters. The buyers called and said they made it to Texas and it ran great! They told us it would be used at a training facility to train Vietnamese firefighters. It was a great truck in its 34 years at Brockway, and traveled to many other neighboring towns for fires. If anyone has any pictures of it in action, please email the station.
Brockway Old Fashioned 4th Celebration

The afternoon brought eats for the visiting fire departments at the station. Followed by the parade and fireworks. Thanks to Warsaw Twp. Fire and Pine Creek Twp. Fire for providing stand-by for the fire works.

New Hurst Jaws of Life Tools & Hurst Rescue Tool Factory Training
5-12-2007
The representative from Hurst Rescue Tools was at Station 1 today to familiarize the department with the new rescue tools. The department spent the morning at J&M Auto Service practicing on junk cars. Some new techniques these tools are capable of were shown to the members.
The department now has the latest and greatest in Jaws of Life rescue tools. The new tools were purchased with state grant money and local donations. The new tools include a new cutter, ram, combi-tool, power plant, and hoses. The original set of tools was purchased approximately 30 years ago by the Brockway High School FFA for approximately $10,000. Some of the old tools were in need or replacement. The old spreaders were ok along with a ram and the power unit. However, the old power unit was only capable of utilizing one tool at a time. The new power plant will operate three tools simultaneously. The new cutters have over 130,000 lbs. cutting force and will cut almost anything on the car including sheet steel, bolts, and frame pieces. The new ram is a telescoping ram, which gives us the capability of having two rams the same length. The new combi-tool (combination cutter spreader) is in service on the engine. This now equips the department with essentially two Jaws of Life tools. The department now has the capability of running on two crashes at the same time. Also, the engine is now equipped to run alone, if manpower does not allow the rescue to get out. The new group of tools when used together with both units allows for use of four tools simultaneously, drastically reducing the time of extrication. After months of consideration the department decided to purchase these tools to best suit the department. The total bill for this new equipment was approximately $27,000, again showing how the cost of essential equipment continues to rise.
