7-18-2010  22:58 hrs.

Box 1-D.  Tree blocking the road.  2200 Route 219, Snyder Twp.

Requested to a tree on the road on route 219 north just at the top of the hill. Chief 1 arrived reporting a large tree hanging on the wires over traffic. He requested brush and truck to respond.  Crews removed the tree.

Units: Brush 1, Truck 1.  Chief 1 had the command.

7-17-2010  22:50 hrs.

Box 1-B.  Lost person search.  7th Avenue Ext., Snyder Twp.

Some personnel at the station had a person stop in reporting possibly some lost people on the rails to trails near the "swinging bridge".  Upon arrival at the gate, brush crew encountered the people and went in service.

Box 6-A.  Transfer engine. Station 6 Reynoldsville.

Reynoldsville was out at a dwelling fire and requested engine 1 to transfer to their station for cover.  Engine 1 transferred for a few hours with no additional calls.

Box 1-A-HH.  Fire alarm.  100 Alexander Street, Brockway Borough.

Truck crew investigated the high school with maintenance and found the problem to be a fault in the alarm system.

Box 1-C.  Tree on the roadway.  362 Rattlesnake Road, Snyder Twp.

Requested by PSP for a report of a tree blocking the roadway.  Upon arrival Brush crew found that the tree had been removed by a passing motorist.  Brush went in service.

Box 1-D-HH.  Industrial rescue.  O-I Plant #19 Crenshaw.

Dispatched for a man trapped in a machine at the glass factory.  Before the rescue got out county advised that the plant personnel had the patient out of the machine and cancelled the fire department.

Box 1-C.  Utility pole fire.  Ring Bloom Road, Snyder Twp.

Reported transformer on fire on a utility pole. Chief 1 checked out and held all units. He arrived and found no fire. Gave the pole number to county and went in service.

7-4-2010  13:03 hrs.

Box 1-C.  Vehicle rollover.  Route 219 at Westville Road, Snyder Twp.

Reported two vehicle with one rolled over.  While in route Chief 1 was advised that some bystanders were holding the vehicle upright and that the passengers were still inside.  Rescue crew arrived and deployed stabilization.  Once that was complete the roof was removed and the patients taken out.  Engine 1 crew deployed a protection line.  Brush crew assisted with the extrication. Engine 4 was requested for a possible landing zone but later was cancelled.

Box 1-A.  Lift assist.  916 Clark Street, Brockway Borough.

Requested by EMS to assist with getting a medical patient out of a vehicle at McDonalds.  Two personnel arrived on scene that work in the area.  Chief 1 reported on scene and held the rescue in station.

Box 4-D.  Vehicle crash.  Beechtree Road, Washington Twp.

Reported vehicle rollover with injuries.  Rescue arrived and assisted station 4 units with the patients.

Box 1-C.  Utility pole on fire.  Rattlesnake Road, Snyder Twp.

Reported fire on the top of a utility pole.  Chief 1 arrived finding no fire and held the box.

6-13-2010  15:17 hrs.

Box 1-C.  Vehicle fire.  Route 219 South, Snyder Twp.

Reported a travel trailer with brakes on fire.  Chief 1 arrived and hit the fire with a dry chemical extinguisher, knocking the fire.  Truck arrived and the crew deployed a line to cool the unit and check for extension.

6-11-2010  17:12 hrs.

Box 1-A-HH.  Building fire.  1030 Oak Street, Brockway Borough.

Reported possible building fire at the Oak Street apartments. Truck crew investigated and found the problem to be an over heated heater unit. There was no extension and all units went in service.

6-11-2010  13:48 hrs.

Box 1-C.  Confine space rescue.  Cross Creek Village Lane, Snyder Twp.

Dispatched for a person that fell into a hold he was digging. EMS arrived on scene and requested the FD cancel as the patient was deceased and they had extricated the patient. Chief 1 placed the box in service.

6-11-2010  02:20 hrs.

Box 4-D.  Vehicle crash. Beechton Road, Washington Twp.

Dispatched to a motorcycle crash. Upon being in route info was given that a male subject was in the area with a gun. Units staged until police arrived to control the situation. No patient was found at the accident scene.

Box 1-B.  Tree on the roadway.  Game school road, Snyder Twp.

Brush 1 crew removed the tree.

6-4-2010  22:15 hrs.

Box 1-A-HH.  Lightning strike to a building.  457 Main Street, Brockway Borough.

Reported building struck by lightning with an odor of smoke in the apartments above the true value building in the business district.  This brought a full first alarm to the borough.  Chief 1 arrived reporting nothing showing from the exterior.  Truck 1 crew investigated the apartments. Truck 1 laddered the A-D corner.  Engine 1 crew laid to the hydrant to supply the truck and then sent a crew to the roof to check.  DuBois Truck 72 laddered the A side and assisted with checking the double cock-loft of the building.  Crews found nothing.  Elk 3 provided the RIT team. 

Units: Truck 1, Engine 1, Engine 15, Engine 71, Truck 72, Engine 72, Special OPS 36 (air), Engine 31 (RIT). Chief 1 had the command.

Box 1-A. Vehicle crash.  600 block of Main, Brockway Borough.

Captain 1-4 arrived reporting all vehicle off the roadway with one leaking some coolant.  Chief 1 brought some floor dry for the clean up.

Box 1-A.  Garage fire.  1663 Bond Street, Brockway Borough.

A reported garage fire.  Truck 1 crew found an overheated extension cord.  Crew unplugged it and wet it down with a water can.  Crew checked for extension finding none.

Box 1-B-HH  Fire alarm. 40 North Street, Snyder Twp.

A fire alarm reported at the elementary school.  Maintenance contacted chief 1, while in route, and requested a response due to an unknown problem in the multi-purpose building.  Truck 1 crew investigated and found an overheated motor in a heater unit on the roof.  Crews checked for extension and when in service.

Units: Truck 1, Engine 1, Rescue 1.  Chief 1 had the command.

Box 1-A.  Carbon Monoxide incident.  1140 Broad Street.

Report of a CO alarm sounding in a residence.  Chief 1 checked the residence and cleared with nothing found.

Box 1-B.  Tree blocking the roadway.  Game School Road, Snyder Twp.

A wind storm came through the area and toppled multiple trees.  Brush 1 crew removed the trees from the roadway.

4-29-2010  09:45 hrs.

Box 1-C-HH.  Fire alarm. 60 Girl Scout Drive, Snyder Twp.

Chief 1 arrived and was told by maintenance that there was no problem. Chief placed the box in service before station 1 units got out.

4-26-2010  18:55 hrs.

Box 1-D.  False alarm.  Route 219 North, Snyder Twp.

Reported as a garage on fire. Chief 1 arrived reporting the property owner was conducting a control burn behind the structure and that it looked as if it was on fire from the road, however the control burn was not out of control. He placed the box in service.

4-20-2010  06:20 hrs.

Box 1-A.  EMS assist.  427 Main street, Brockway Borough.

EMS requested help for lifting. Upon station 1 acknowledging the ambulance had gotten more attendants and canceled fire.

4-16-2010  02:41 hrs.

Box 4-E. Vehicle crash.  Old Grade road, Washington Twp.

Station 4 officer arrived and cancelled Rescue 1.

4-12-2010  14:33 hrs.

Box 1-B.  Carbon monoxide incident.  642 Coal Tipple road, Snyder Twp.

Requested by PSP for a possible CO incident. Rescue arrived and was on standby until PSP cleared the residence. They determined it was a police incident and not a CO incident and released the fire department.

4-11-2010  21:50 hrs.

Box 4-D.  Dwelling fire.  Beechton road, Washington Twp.

Dispatched to a report of the electric box on fire in a residence.  Assistant 15 arrived advising the fire was out.  Chief 4 held it to station 4 only.

4-7-2010  23:38 hrs.

Box 1-D.  Building fire.  Zuccolotto Lane, Snyder Twp.

In route: 23:44 (6min), on scene: 23:46 (2min), available: 13:12.

Reported as a working garage fire.  Chief 1 arrived reporting a smoke showing. Truck 1 laid a driveway line and the crew made an attack. Engine 1 arrived and set up a tanker dump site and supplied the driveway line. Engine 15 set up the fill site just outside of town at a hydrant.  Truck crew had a fast knock on the fire and went into mop up. Elk 4 RIT was then cancelled before arriving.

Box 1-A.  Animal rescue.  915 Bond street, Brockway Borough.

A neighbor advised that a dog was stuck on the house roof next door.  Truck 1 went to investigate. Upon arrival the dog entered the window it came out of. Truck went in service at 15:53.

Box 15-D.  Brush fire endangering a camp.  Jimtown Road, Polk Twp.

Brush 1 went in route and was cancelled.

4-3-2010  14:27 hrs.

Box 1-A. Vehicle rollover.  1216 Broad Street, Brockway Borough.

In route: 14:33 (6min), on scene: 14:35 (2min), available: 15:42.

A single vehicle rollover. Chief 1 arrived advising of confinement and advised the engine stabilization for the vehicle was needed. Engine 1 crew deployed stabilization to the vehicle and assisted with EMS.  Engine 4 arrived and the crew pulled a protection line from engine 1.  Brush 1 and engine 4 then proceeded to the football field for an air medical landing zone.  Engine 4 was the ground contact.

Box 1-A.  Traffic control. 90 Main street, Brockway Borough.

Requested by PSP to assist with traffic for a disabled tractor trailer.  Fire police set up traffic control.  In service at 12:40.


Alarm # 24

3-31-2010  13:25 hrs.

Box 1-A.  Smoke in a dwelling.  735 Alexander Street, Brockway Borough.

In route: 13:31 (6min), on scene: 13:32 (1min), available: 13:50.

Dispatched to a possible dwelling fire.  The caller stated the basement was full of smoke. Upon Chief 1 going enroute, control advised him that the sewer department was doing smoke testing in the area a few hours ago. Chief 1 arrived assuming command and reported smoke showing from the basement.  The truck came in, laying from the hydrant. The crew investigated and found no fire. It was determined to be the smoke from the sewer department.  Chief 1 placed the box in service.

Units: Truck 1, Engine 15, Tanker 15, DuBois engine 71, Elk engine 31 RIT.  Chief 1 had the command.

Box 1-C.  EMS assist.  40 Thompson Drive, Snyder Twp.

EMS advised they only needed 2 personnel. 2 officers responded to assist. Available at 09:35.

Box 1-A.  Vehicle crash.  90 Main Street, Brockway Borough.

In route: 09:36 (6min), on scene: 09:37 (1min), available: 10:15.

Crews performed hazard control.

Box 1-A.  Vehicle fire.  925 3rd Avenue, Brockway Borough.

In route: 16:30 (7min), on scene: 16:32 (2min), available: 16:50.

Reported vehicle fire in the engine compartment.  Chief 1 arrived reporting a working fire. Before truck 1 arrived the chief had a knock with a dry chem extinguisher.  Crews made sure it was out and picked up.

Box 1-D.  CO incident.  Hemlock Drive, Snyder Twp.

In route: 09:33 (8min), on scene: 09:36 (3min), available: 10:09.

Requested by EMS to investigate for CO. Crews checked the residence and found none.

Box 1-B.  Brush fire.  Penny Lane, Snyder Twp.

In route: 14:28 (6min), on scene: 14:32 (4min), available: 15:10.

A control burn that go out of hand. Crews extinguished the fire that was about a half acre.

Box 1-D. Carbon monoxide incident. 140 7th Avenue Extension, Snyder Twp.

In route: 09:04 (8min), on scene: 09:06 (2min), available: 09:52.

Brockway ambulance was called to the residence for a person having difficulty breathing.  Upon arrival their CO detectors were going off. They requested fire to investigate.  Crew investigated and found very low levels of CO in the residence.

2-23-2010  20:42 hrs.

Box 1-A.  Carbon monoxide alarm.  1819 Main Street, Brockway Borough.

In route: 20:49 (7min), on scene: 20:51 (2min), Available: 21:02.

A reported CO alarm going off in a residence. Truck crew investigated and found no CO. It was determined to be a faulty detector.

Units: Truck 1.  Chief 1 had the command.

2-20-2010  14:45 hrs.

Box 1-A-HH.  Outside fire.  1306 Main Street, Brockway Borough.

In route: 14:50 (5min), on scene: 14:51 (1min), available: 14:59.

Reported as a tire on fire outside the building of Brockway Automotive.  Engine 1 crew investigated and determined the tire caught fire from being leaned up against the chimney.  Crew extinguished the smoldering tire, checked for extension, and went in service.

Units: Engine 1, Rescue 1.  Deputy 1 had the command.

A single vehicle accident. Vehicle into a tree. Rescue 1 crew assisted with hazard control.

Requested for an EMS assist. Brush 1 responded with 4 to assist.

2-6-2010  07:24 hrs.

Box 1-B.  Traffic control.  15706 Route 28, Snyder Twp.

Dispatched for a truck stuck on the hill blocking traffic.  Before going in route station was advised that the ambulance was reporting the truck had gotten moving and there was no obstruction.  Chief 1 placed the box in service.

2-5-2010  02:48 hrs.

Box 1-C.  Vehicle crash.  Rattlesnake Road at Siple Road, Snyder Twp.

In route: 02:56 (8min), on scene: 03:04 (8min), available: 03:40.

Reported as a single vehicle crash into a pole.  Rescue arrived to find a vehicle off the roadway into a pole. One occupant had fled on foot, the other was in EMS care.  Crews performed hazard control and traffic control until the wrecker company removed the vehicle.

2-4-2010  14:34hrs.

Box 1-C.  Vehicle crash w/entrapment.  Route 219 at Broad St. Ext., Snyder Twp.

In route: 14:42 (8min), on scene: 14:45 (3min), Available: 16:17.

Reported as a 2 vehicle crash, a tractor trailer and a passenger car, with entrapment.  Chief 1 arrived reporting entrapment of the driver in the passenger car.  Rescue crew set up stabilization and began extrication.  Extrication complete at 15:01 (16min).  Engine 4 was requested to set up the landing zone.  Pumper 15 responded to the scene for manpower.  Elk Engine 3 was called in for cover at station 1.

Elk Box 701.  Vehicle crash.  Route 153, Horton Twp.

In route: 10:24 (7min), Available: 10:36.

Dispatched to assist Elk 7 with a crash.  Reported as a one vehicle crash.  Units were unable to find any crash and went available.

1-28-2010  08:03 hrs.

Box 4-UN.  Vehicle crash.  Route 219 in the area of Brubaker Road, Washington Twp.

In route: 08:10 (7min), on scene: 08:16 (6min), available: 09:03.

Dispatched auto aid with station 4 for a three vehicle crash with injuries.  Brockway ambulance reported on scene with 3 vehicle blocking the roadway, no entrapment.  Crews performed hazard control.

Units: Rescue 1, Engine Rescue 4.

1-25-2010  20:36 hrs.

Box 15-C.  Flue Fire.  1924 Egypt Road, Warsaw Twp.

Dispatched auto-aid for a flue fire. Deputy 15 arrived on scene and held it to the units responding. Units had not made it out of the station yet.

1-24-2010  15:37 hrs.

Box 1-A.  Vehicle crash.  Main Street at Cherry Street, Brockway Borough.

In route: 15:40 (3min), on scene: 15:41 (1min), Available: 16:08.

Crews were at the station cleaning up equipment from the dwelling fire as they were dispatched.  Reported as a two vehicle crash, head-on with fluid leaking.  Crews performed hazard control.

Units: Rescue 1, Engine 1, Brush 1.  Chief 1 had the command.


Alarm # 5

1-24-2010  14:06 hrs.

Box 1-B.  1st alarm dwelling fire.  3058 Kearney Road, Snyder Twp.

In route: 14:12 (6min), on scene: 14:14 (2min), Available: 15:19.

Reported as a chimney fire.  Chief 1 arrived reporting a heavy smoke condition in the basement and heavy smoke from the chimney.  Truck crew accessed the building to check for extension.  They found some light extension into the wall and active fire in the attic.  Crews made quick work of containing the fire keeping the damage to a minimum.  Crews used ground ladders to access the chimney.

Units: Truck 1, Engine 1, Engine 4, Engine 15, DuBois Engine 71, Rescue 1, Tanker 1, Tanker 4, Tanker 15, Engine 2-17 RIT.  Chief 1 had the command.

1-18-2010  14:27 hrs.

Box 1-D.  Vehicle crash.  4189 Route 219, Snyder Twp.

In route: 14:32 (5min), on scene: 14:37 (5min), Available: 15:45.

Reported as a two vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger car.  Crews controlled the hazards and set up traffic control. Route 219 was completely blocked. Chief 1 requested Elk 7 for assistance with traffic at the county line.  Once the vehicle were removed the road was opened and the units returned.

Box 1-A. Vehicle crash. Main Street at 2nd Avenue, Brockway Borough.

In route: 20:22 (6min), On scene: 20:23 (1min), Available: 20:47.

Reported as a two vehicle crash with injuries.  Chief 1 arrived and held it the the rescue. Crews performed hazard control.

Units: Rescue 1.  Chief 1 had the command.


Alarm # 2

1-4-2010  19:22 hrs.

Box 1-B.  1224 Route 28, Snyder Twp.

In route: 19:28 (6min), On scene: 19:35 (7min), Available: 20:02.

Reported as a vehicle rollover with patient still in the vehicle. While in route control advised that this was off the road behind the residence.  Crews arrived and went in search of the vehicle. Following the donut marks through the field in the 18" of snow they came upon a vehicle. The patient was not entrapped. Crews assisted EMS with loading the patient on a backboard and transporting to the ambulance. Another crew controlled the hazards.

Box 1-A.  Vehicle crash.  Broad Street at Record, Brockway Borough.

Reported vehicle into a tree. Chief 1 arrived reporting the occupants had fled. No resources were needed and placed the box in service.
