Box 1-B. Line down. 7th Avenue Extension, Snyder Twp.
The Game Commission officer reported a line down on the roadway on 7th Ave. Ext, approximately 3 miles from the Borough. Lieutenant 1-6 responded to check the situation out. He gave county the pole number. This road services only 1 residence and a few hunting camps. The line was flagged with tape, and the roadway roped off. Box in service at 10:27.

10-29-2008 09:14 hrs.
Box 1-A. Traffic control. 90 Main Street, Brockway Borough.
A morning snow squall covered the roads with 2 inches of snow and made traveling very hazardous for a period of time. The company was requested by Brockway PD for traffic control on the hill in front of Highland View Healthcare for a semi-truck stuck on the hill due to the morning snowy weather. Captain 1-3 arrived to find a truck unable to get enough traction to make the hill. There was also a minor accident caused by the truck in the middle of the roadway. Traffic control was set up at the top and bottom of the hill, and the hill was shut down until the truck got moving. During this incident county advised of another rig stuck on Route 28 near Coal Tipple road in Snyder Twp. A crew was sent to that incident and set up traffic control on that hill until the truck was towed out of the ditch. The incidents were handled by fire police, and a small crew in a POV. Box in service at 10:13.

Box 1-D. Vehicle rollover. 3717 Route 219, Snyder Twp.
In Route: 08:32 (7min), On Scene: 08:35 (3min), Available: 09:27.
Reported a one vehicle rollover off the roadway with unknown conditions. It was in the area of the intersection with Glasshurst Road. Chief 1 arrived reporting occupants out of the vehicle and to have units continue. Units stood-by until the wrecker company righted the vehicle.

Box 1-A. Motor vehicle - pedestrian crash. Chittester Way, Brockway Borough.
Reported vehicle hit a bicyclist. Chief 1 arrived holding all units to quarters. He requested the ambulance continue for minor injuries. Box in service at 17:00.

Box 1-A. Motor vehicle crash. Main & 9th, Brockway Borough.
In Route: 07:56 (7min), On Scene: 07:56, Available: 08:17.
Reported as a 2 vehicle crash with injuries. Chief 1 arrived reporting 2 vehicles on the roadway, no entrapment, and held it to the rescue for clean-up. Rescue crew controlled the fluids. Fire Police set-up traffic control.

10-2-2008 11:16 hrs.
Box 1-B. Activated alarm. Game School Road, Snyder Twp.
A firefighter arrived advising of a construction crew working on the residence set the alarm off. Chief 1 arrived on scene shortly after and held all units. The alarm company did not have the address of the residence. The owners were advised to call the alarm company and make sure they have the correct address and any other info.

Box 1-A-1-HH. Activated alarm. 90 Main street, Brockway Borough.
In Route: 13:49 (7min), Available: 13:56.
The crews were at the DuBois training grounds finishing up burn activities as the alarm was dispatched. Most of the manpower left the training within minutes headed for the Borough. The engine got out, from the station, just minutes later. Fire Police 1-8 arrived and reported that maintenance had a false trip of a pull box. The chief placed the units in service.

9-24-2008 18:31 hrs.
Elk fire box 702. Dwelling fire. 328 Elbon Road, Horton Twp.
In Route: 18:38 (7min), On Scene: 18:54 (16min), Available: 21:12.
Dispatched for truck to assist with a dwelling fire. As the truck went in route, command requested a tanker and rescue for RIT. The tanker responded, however it took some time to get enough manpower to get the rescue out. The truck could not be positioned at the fire building, so the crew handled the RIT assignment. Rescue responded with a large crew and provided air, lighting, and another RIT team. DuBois engine 71 covered in the Borough while the crews were out. No calls were received.

Box 4-E. Activated fire alarm. 1862 Old Grade Rd, Washington Twp.

Alarm at the Laurel Mountain Winery. Chief 4 arrived reporting a malfunction and cancelled all units. Station 1 responded Engine, Rescue, and Tanker.

9-23-2008 15:29 hrs.
Box 1-A. Motor vehicle crash. Main at Clark Street, Brockway Borough.
Dispatched for a two vehicle crash at the intersection. Reported as unknown injuries, fluids leaking. Captain 1-4 and Assistant 1-2 arrived and reported that all vehicles were off the roadway. All units were held to quarters.

9-14-2008 22:07 hrs.
Storm Damage.
The station was alerted by EMA to be manned. The county had a storm move through and the dispatch center was loaded with calls. All stations were to be manned in the county. The dispatch then gave all the incidents to OIC as they came in. The crews handled 4 calls in the district for trees and wires down. The crew that went to the Game School Road area removed 15 trees in Snyder and Polk Townships. All units were in service by 02:00.

Dispatched to a single vehicle rollover with unknown conditions, blocking the roadway. Chief 1 arrived advising of the occupants out of the vehicle. He held the engine to quarters. Rescue 1 crew performed fluid control.

Box 1-C. Motor vehicle crash. 8255 Route 219, Snyder Twp.
In Route: 10:14 (7min), On Scene: 10:18 (4min), Available: 10:50.
Dispatched for a vehicle crash reported into a pole. Chief 1 arrived reporting one vehicle into a pole with occupants out of the vehicle. He held the box to Rescue 1. Crew arrived and went to work to control the hazards.

Box 1-D. Motor vehicle crash. 373 Route 219, Snyder Twp.
In Route: 11:32 (7min), On Scene: 11:36 (4min), Available: 12:28.
Dispatched for a one vehicle crash into a pole with injuries. Upon arrival EMS had patient on the cot and was caring. They requested an airship to the scene. Rescue 1 crew checked the vehicle for hazards. Engine 1 diverted to an LZ site and set up for the airship. Fire police set up a hazard area until Penelec arrived.
Units operating: Rescue 1, Engine 1. Chief 1 had the command. Captain 1-4 had the LZ.

Box 1-C-HH. Automatic Fire Alarm. 60 Girl Scout Drive, Snyder Twp.
Chief 1 arrived on scene and held all units to quarters before they hit the street.

Box 1-A-HH. Vehicle Fire. Owens-Illinois Plant 18 Cherry Street, Brockway Borough.
In Route: 08:28 (7min), On Scene: 08:30 (2min), Available: 09:09.
Dispatched for a tractor trailer dump truck that had become entangled in overhead wires. FP 1-9 Reported on scene with a working fire in the tires of the trailer. Chief 1 arrived and requested Penelec to the scene a.s.a.p. as the truck was believed to be still energized. Truck 1 arrived and the crew pulled an attack line for protection as the fire police cordoned off a safety area. Penelec arrived and cut the power. The crew put the line in service and put out the tire fire.

Box 1-A. Structure fire. 1101 Main Street, Brockway Borough.
In Route: 18:10 (6min), On Scene: 18:11 (1min), Available: 19:16.
Dispatched for a reported garage fire with smoke showing. Deputy 1 arrived reporting smoke showing from the roof. Truck 1 took the driveway while Engine 1 laid supply line to a near-by hydrant. Crew from Truck 1 deployed an 1-3/4" handline to the upstairs apartment. Crew from Engine 1 deployed ladders to the roof as crew from DuBois prepared to vent. DuBois crew vented the roof. Fire was contained to the contents of the upstairs apartment of the garage.

Box 1-A. Wires on fire. 4th and South Street intersection, Brockway Borough.
In Route: 21:59 (6min), On Scene: 22:00 (1min), Available: 22:55.
Reported wires on fire in that area. Chief 1 investigated and found a small fire on a pole at that location. Crews stood by until Penelec arrived.

Box 1-A-HH. Smoke filled structure. 920 Fifth Avenue, Brockway Borough.
In Route: 04:50 (9min), On Scene: 04:50, Available: 05:36.
Dispatched for a possible structure fire. Caller reported the building full of smoke. With the report of smoke showing, the box brought 2nd alarm automatically. Chief 1 arrived on scene to find burnt food in one apartment. He held the box to Truck 1. Crew used a fan to clear the building of smoke.

7-22-2008 21:14 hrs.
Box 1-D. Smoke investigation. 2790 Route 219, Snyder Twp.
Dispatched to check a smoke situation in the area. Chief 1 was advised by Captain 19 who was traveling through that it was possibly a controlled burn. Chief 1 held all units to quarters. It was determined to be a controlled burn of a dresser by a resident. Box in service at 21:29.

Box 1-A-HH. Activated alarm. 1060 7th Avenue, Brockway Borough.
Alerted for a reported alarm going off in Building B of Toby Terrace. Residents heard an alarm and called 911. Chief 1 arrived and held all units to quarters. It was determined to be a trouble alarm. Box in service at 15:35.

Box 1-A. Motor cycle crash. Main Street at Clark Street, Brockway Borough.
Alerted for a motor cycle crash with injuries. Captain 1-4 arrived on scene and held all units in quarters. Box in service at 12:57.

7-12-2008 18:05 hrs.
Box 1-D-HH. Building Fire. 3831 Route 219, Snyder Twp.
In Route: 18:10 (5min), On Scene: 18:12 (2min), Available: 19:02.
Dispatched for a working building fire at the Owens-Illinois Plant # 19 in Crenshaw. Caller was reporting a fire in the roof area of the "hot end" of the plant. Chief 1 and Deputy 1 arrived to find that the sprinkler system had the fire just about out. All units were requested to the scene with caution to check the building. Truck 1 was set up on the C-D corner for access to the roof. Truck crew accessed the roof ventilators via a catwalk in the plant. Engine 1 had the A-D corner on stand-by for water supply. Truck 72 had access to the roof on the D side and their crew assisted with a TIC. All other equipment staged in the plant parking lot. All areas were checked and determined the fire to be out. The fire burned a build-up of grease and oil on the underside of the roof decking. Quick action of plant employees in activating the sprinkler system and directing fire hoses to the ceiling avoided a disaster. The fire was accidental in nature and only caused minor damage to one forming machine where the fire originated.
